* According to two crazy guys who saw every pro team play in its home arena. Using a scale of one to five stars (five being best), here is what the guys thought of Chicago’s Sports Venues.

Soldier Field: two stars
“Only two stars yet much better than we expected. Classic architecture, and this venue has some of the most beautiful surroundings of any stadium we’ve visited.”

Wrigley Field: 4 stars
“The world’s finest baseball experience. This place reeks of baseball. It’s a baseball field the way your father and grandfather saw it, and you can cut through the aura with a knife. Can’t even imagine how amazing this place would be for a World Series.”

Comiskey Park: 3 stars
“Better than others tell it to be. Exploding scoreboard concept brought from the old Comiskey. Old Comiskey base paths and marker can be found in the parking lot.”

United Center (Bulls): 3 stars
“The team has been horrible, yet fans fill this place night after night. Best pregame intro show in the NBA, the fans need the fireworks and lights to distract them from the debacle happening on the court.”

United Center (Hawks): 4 stars
“When they play the national anthem everyone stands and cheers wildly. That sets the stage for a special hockey experience at the United Center, which is a beautiful venue full of displays and interactive things to do in the bright and wide concourses. The menu selection and variety of restaurants in this arena is incredible.”

IMO they missed THE sporting venue in the world, which was Chicago Stadium for a BlackHawks game. The energy was incredible. Whenever I mention this to anyone who had been to the old Chicago Stadium, they nod and know the truth. While the United Center is nice, it pales in energy compared w/the Chicago Stadium.
