MOUNT WASHINGTON, N.H. — Authorities on Saturday encouraged hikers to travel with a companion and use caution after a Canadian woman was found stabbed to death on Mount Washington.
Louise Chaput, 52, of Sherbrooke, Quebec, was apparently hiking alone when she was murdered sometime after entering the Pinkham Notch area on Nov. 15, Assistant Attorney General Kelly Ayotte said Saturday.
