Does any have any comments concerning these hotels? This is my 1st time to Paris. The addresses are 5 Chomel and 56 Mouffetard, respectively. I found about the Lindbergh in the Frommers guide and the other by chance. They are both priced about the same.

I don't know about either hotel, but I'd much rather be on the rue Chomel (more interesting shopping, easier access to everywhere else in the city).
I don't know the hotel ... but I was looking for the street market.
Read this from an article: Marché Mouffetard. On sunday morning along the lower rue Mouffetard 5th district. Don't miss this very colorful market, you can even join in the spontaneous choir singing traditional parisian tunes at the corner of rue de l'Arbalète, unless you prefer to sip your coffee at the sunny café-terrace facing it.
Some good hotels are (Euro 100 +/-): Suede, Bosquet, Lenox St. Germain and Lenox Montparnass .. all Rive Gauche!

I know Rue Mouffetard area well - stayed at Hotel de L'Esperance at the bottom of that street. I believe the Comfort Inn is near there. I loved the area. I am a foodie/chef. Each morning i would walk up the Rue Mouffetard and pick up warm quiche at one bakery and stand at a table drinking coffee at another place. I did gain weight, but what the heck. The cheese shops are wonderful as are the vegetables. It's a wonderful place to start the day from. I'm returning to Paris in late December and think I should try a different area which may be a real mistake for me since my heart belongs to Rue Moufftard. I highly recommend Hotel de l"Esperance - about 80 per night. Also, it's near a metro entrance - easy to get around. To fax them, dial 011 33 1 43 37 56 19. And have an unforgetable trip.

You can find most anything on the 'net. Spend a little time searching.

ztravelbug- as a 'foodie/chef", have you ever gone to E. Delliherin (the basement!)for copper pots. Fantastic quality and they 'give' them away.

Its cheaper to buy new pots there, than to have old ones 're-tinned' in the US.

I've stayed at the Comfort Inn Mouffetard (Latin Quarter) many times.
It's a tourist hotel. Very small rooms and bathrooms, but clean and fine if you are just using it for sleeping. Rudi dropped by to meet me there a few times and he seemed interested enough to grab a card (I think he was looking for a budget place for his daughter).
No non-smoking rooms (common for smaller hotels in Paris) so bring a stack of Bounce fabric softener sheets to place under the sheets and pillow covers if you are sensitive.
It is in a wonderful section of town, and the street market and Metro are just down the street a bit.
Lots of nice shops, food stores, bars, cafes, and restaurants. Romantic. Rue Mouffetard was featured in the recent film "Amelie."
You can walk to The Pantheon and Luxembourg Gardens which are nearby (but then again you can walk to just about anyplace in Paris).
You might try pricing it via Room Only at www.unitedvacations.com (http://www.unitedvacations.com)
I've saved money booking through them not only on price but by taxes being included in your pre-paid voucher.
