View Full Version : Any thoughts on Sofitel Castille - Rue Cambon?

Just wondering if anyone has seen/stayed in this hotel. It used to be a Westin and it's now a Sofitel Demure. It's located on Rue Cambon around the corner from Place Vendome, next door to Chanel.

I'm familiar with the area having stayed in two other hotels nearby (Scribe and Richpense) so I know the score on that account, just never seen the Castille itself. From what I've seen on the web it looks nice and has all the ammenities of a 4-star along with a 1-Michelin Star restaurant.

The reason I ask is that I managed to get a great internet deal on a Deluxe room (half of rack rate) through Sofitel's own web site. That rate offer already ended.

Thanks!

I stayed there a lot a few years ago.

The hotel is nice, and in a great area (although Rue Cambon is quite long with no side streets, so you've got to travel to either end to get to Opera or Rue St Honore)

Rooms are very nice, but VERY small and a slightly odd shape to take account of the odd floor layouts.

Food in the restaurant is excellent.

Overall, it's a good bet, especially if you get a good rate.
