I'd be interested in hearing about any experiences with the newly opened Pershing Hall Hotel in Paris. For example, how does it compare with other small, high style, high price hotels in the city (Hotel Costes, et al).

Funny, a friend from the states just asked the same question; below you will find my response. I know no one (yet) who has stayed at this property, but it is supposedly booked for months. I did hear they were having some teething problems, but this should be getting better. Sorry I can't help you any more than this. Oh, the "scene" (as in posing fashionistas and all that goes with them) is a little more subdued than at the Hotel Costes, from what I hear.

Pershing Hall:

Latest by Andree Putman who started the boutique hotel thing with the Morgans in NYC back in 1984 (I believe). The old American pershing Hall right next to the Cartier HQ in the Golden Triangle of the 8th. Very nice decor, and the hanging wall garden is unbelievable. Apparently tough to get in.

Thanks for the information.

I have duplicate bookings at the Pershing Hall and the Costes for an upcoming visit...currently trying to decide which one to dump.

I'm tempted to stick with the Costes, based on location and track record (and although I am not one of those posing fashionistas myself, I have to admit I kinda like observing them. They make me laugh).

OK, the location of the Costes easily wins hands down. The style is obviously totally different, and the Pershing has that incredible hanging garden. But the Pershing neighborhood is much less interesting, especially at night.

P.S. They make me laugh, too. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/biggrin.gif
