Just got this e-mail from"Maison de la France":

Free admission to all Paris municipal museums
Since December 22, 2001, access to the permanent collections of all City of Paris museums is free of charge. The museums are: Musée d’art moderne de la ville de Paris, Carnavalet (Museum of the History of Paris), Cognacq-Jay, Vie Romantique/Hôtel Scheffer-Renan, Bourdelle, Zadkine, Maison de Balzac, Mémorial Maréchal Leclerc, Jean Moulin. The Petit Palais and the Musée Cernuschi will also offer free admission to their permanent collections after they reopen in 2004. In addition, the Maison de Victor-Hugo will offer free admission from January to March 3, 2002, and then again starting August 15, 2002. Admission to the temporary exhibitions of these museums will also be free for children under 14.
