Has anyone stayed at either hotel near the St. Germain area of Paris?

I don't know them. Both are 3 star hotels, which is O.K..

Generally, St. Germain is a good area. I like Lenox St. Germain (***) or Lenox Montparnasse (***) or hotel L'Universitee in St. Germain (****)

mphall: the Hotel de L'Abbaye is a very nice, well-run hotel ideally situated near the Saint-Sulpice church and the Luxembourg Gardens in Saint-Germain. It has a lovely interior garden and is on a (fairly) peaceful side street. Friends really like this hotel. I'm not familiar with the Sainte Beuve; I prefer the Abbaye location.

USAFAN gives good advice above. My father and other family friends have stayed at the Lenox Saint-Germain several times and always enjoy it. Rooms can be small (very Parisian). Location is excellent. Hotel de l' Univesité is across the street and also very good.

Hope this helps.
