I am assisting my parents-in-law get a hotel room in Paris for October 22 and 23, 2001. They are from the Ukraine and do not speak French or English (actually, just a little English in a heavy Russian accent). They do speak Russian, Ukrainian and some German. Although they have never before been to Paris, my Father-in-law has traveled twice on business to western Europe and has been to America three times (two of these three times on business).

They will be arriving at Charles De Gaul on Monday morning and leave from De Gaul on early Wednesday afternoon. Since they have little time in Paris, I hope to put them in the middle of a touristy area. I also want to try to identify some Russian language tours.

I would like to keep the room cost to $100 per night. However, one person has advised me to put them in the HOTEL RELAIS BOSQUET on 19, rue du Champ de Mars at $118 per night, not including breakfast. This hotel does have an airport shuttle service.
Of course, I have asked my parents-in-law to talk to Ukrainian tour agencies for their advice, but if someone here can help (especially with finding a good hotel since the best tourist information on France seems to come mostly from English language sources), I would appreciate your help.

Thank you.

I think I would hit the bookstore and check out different Paris guides and find one that matches their needs, and go from there. I like Frommer's, and have had good luck with their recommendations. My room in May was $40.00 US with breakfast (see my post & others in another Paris forum here).

If you speak German or Russian, you might do some surfing for Paris tourist sites targeted at those countries, searching from a site like yahoo but using their international versions (see bottom of their page). You might also encourage them to visit a bookstore (if they have one in their locale) that carries tour books in their native tongue. This would help you & them find hotels that specialize in those languages. Of course, you can e-mail many hotels and ask what languages their staff are fluent in.

They might benefit from one of these handy-dandy card sets with pictures they can point to for information.

good luck!

Ave Bosquet though a very nice area with some very good restuarants and is fairly quiet is not really in the " middle of the touristy area" they will be with walking distance of the Eiffel Tower the Champ de Mars and Ecole Militare but to get to the other areas they might was to see they will have to travel a bit, from that hotel.

Suggest they take a city tour Cityrama or Grey line have some good half and full days tours with narration in must major European
languages I am sure they will find a number of city tours in German.

Follow the advice posted above and somewhere more central might be advisable.
