in terms of reception and price per call.
I will be in HK for a week next month, and will likely be using about 200 minutes of calls.

Price per call depends very much on where and when you are calling...
For quality of coverage again it depends a bit on where you will be, but in the main areas CSL is generally reckoned to have the highest quality on average, with Orange not far behind. I suspect that prices are a little higher for these two though.

Hi, how about a FREE CSL chip? Does that sound good?
My parents used it last Nov. It has no time but should still be good with a refill.
I have no use for it. Not going to HK anytime soon.
Jim
thanks for the quick responses. I will be mainly calling locally and will be in the main areas (Central - Causeway Bay, TST-Prince Edward)
Jim - Thanks for the offer. I'll send you an email. Wonder if there's and expiration date on the SIMs.
Jim -

there are many mobile operators in HK.
CSL tend to be the msot expecsive.
check the websites of
smartone, people's, new world's /etc.
(just type the name + HK + mobile in google to search) to compare the costs
for CSL, there are 2 brands, 123 is cheaper than 1010 in general

If you use dial-around numbers, there's no need to shack up with a 2nd rate carrier. (It's easier to switch dial-arounds than phone numbers.)
