I've taken the train from HKG to Guangzhou, but never the bus. (I'm familiar with medium and longer bus travel.)

What's the latest intelligence on bus from HKG to Guangzhou and return. I'll probably stay at the White Swan in Guangzhou.

I'm especially interested in any links to the actual service(s), which I couldn't find at the Citybus site. Also, how easy it is to get a seat when not travelling on the weekend/holiday.

I've never doen this, but the hkaiprot website lists five providers of coach services to Guangzhou along with HK phone numbers for all of them at:

Thanks for this information. I realized after I posted the original query that I was misstating the request.

I want to start from the Admiralty area in Central and end up at the White Swan and take the bus. I'll use the information provided as a starting point. If anyone has further information, it would be welcome.

I took the bus from HKG to Guangzhou and it was fine except for looking at the really bad smog along the way. Sorry, but I don't recall the company or where I got onboard -- it may have been the Kowloon Hotel. We got off in the center of the city near the train station, and took a taxi to the White Swan. That hotel has a good location on the river and on the neat island. However, the activity in the city was back to the city center. The bus ride from there to Zhuhai was also good and without the smog. We then walked across to Macau.
