Is it feasible to rent a car and run down for quick tour of the Queen Mary? What other possible ideas-- touristy stuff is OK.

Car rentals are usually very cheap at LAX, as are taxes on the rentals. I often use Fox or Thrifty.

There are lots of places that you could easily go during a 6 hour layover. Queen Mary, the museums, Santa Monica, other beaches, LaBrea Tar Pits, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, etc. Marina Del Rey is especially close. There are yachts, restaurants, clubs, etc.

I think the J Paul Getty Museum isnt' far. Architecturally wondrous.
