I'm planning a road trip to Sweden and Norway next september, starting from ARL and wishing to see the more I can. Could anyone suggest me any low-budget accomodations in both countries?
Thanks in advance.

Ibis (small, clean, pleasant rooms with standard amenities) and Formule One (same, except bathroom in the corridor), both from the Accor chain, are among the cheapest options available. Often these hotels are located a little further out (not always), but since you will have a car, that's not an issue. Go to http://www.accor.com and
enter some possible places you want to visit. Unfortunately, these hotels are cheapest during the summer, but I think there are still fairly reasonable fall rates available. I loved our Ibis hotel room in Gothenburg - it was on a moored boat right on the river, it was sparkling clean and new, and the view at sunset was stunning.
You can get good deals with the ScanPass, I've heard, but I have no details on that. Ibis also has a card that you can get that helps you save money.
In Oslo, I don't know how good this option is in the fall, but this summer we stayed at Anker Hostel - http://www.albertine.no. We did not stay in typical hostel accommodation, though - we had a studio flat with two beds for my son and I, a fridge and stove, and private bathroom. This was about half the cost of the cheapest hotel room in Oslo.
Choice Hotels Scandinavia (many hotels in both countries) has a Nordic Hotel pass that gives you about 50% discount in their hotels:

Thanks for all your suggestions I will keep in mind for my next trip in Scandia (this one has been delayed because of an unexpected huge work to complete!)
