Hi everyone,

I'm coming to Scandanavia in August and was wondering if you had any suggestions or ways to improve the following itinerary?

Day 1: Arrive in Helsinki (evening)
Day 2: Helsinki
Day 3: Tallin (overnight ferry to Stockholm)
Day's 3-5: Stockholm
Day's 7-8: Oslo (take an early flight to OSL from Stockholm)
Day 9: Norway in a Nutshell (one night in flam)
Day's 10-11: Bergen
Day's 12-16: Copenhagen (early flight to CPH from BG0)

Thanks in advance for your input!

Cheers,

Bryan

It really depends what your aim is. Sightseeing? History? Local culture? If you could give a bit more info then it would be easier to help you.

Breaking up that Norway in a Nutshell tour is a good idea. I haven't spent the night in Flam, but Gudvangen is another option. There's not much there but a delightful little inn with sod-roofs - the Gudvangen Fjordtel - and the spectacular scenery of the many, many waterfalls. You can do some hiking. Wherever you stay make reservations early because with such limited numbers of hotels they fill quickly.

The main reason I'll be traveling through Scandanavia is to get a feel for the various cultures. I've met so many individuals from Scandanavia in other parts of the world, that I'm intrigued by their cutlure.

By spending 16 days in 5 different countries, but will barely get an impression of each culture and hardly enough to see the often large differences in culture and lifestyle

As you are interested in more than taking a photo in each city, I will suggest that you cut down in the cities/countries you will visit.

I will recommend that you take 1/2 day guided tours the first day in each city to get an all round impression and historic back ground. Such tours will also lead you to museums you may want to visit or certain nighborhoods you may find interesting.

If you want suggestions for things to see and do in Denmark, feel free to e-mail me.
