I have some business associates arriving in Stockholm for a complicated Scandinavian business meeting which involves car travel between Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Germany and Holland.

My clients are from a tropical South-East Asian country who believe that travelling in the snow can only be accomplished by a 4X4 vehicle. It seems that the only Swedish site I can find offering a 4X4 BMW X-5 (at a semi-decent price) is called www.mabirent.se (http://www.mabirent.se) . But they seem to have a very unreasonable credit card security requirement.

Are there any other suggestions for prestige 4x4 vehicle rentals in Stockholm? Thanks for your help.

Can their travel be accomodated with first class rail car and taxis/limos? It sounds like they could be a bit stressed over the prospect of driving in snow for the first time, especially while negotiating unfamiliar roads with signs in a foreign language.

Well, I ran this suggestion past these people and they were somewhat surprised. It appears that train travel is not what these fellows had in mind. They even hinted that I was showing them 'disrespect' for suggesting this. Oh well, can't beat the cultural differences. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/rolleyes.gif

Perhaps you contact some Mercedes, BMW and Range Rover dealerships there via internet and see what they offer or suggest. Volvo is getting ready to introduce a nice SUV as well--I spotted a couple testing here in Phoenix a couple of months ago.
