What's the most luxurious full-service hotel in the central business district of Copenhagen? Thanks!

Hotel D'Angleterre, no question about it.

Thanks, Fly Me, for finding me in this new corner of FlyerTalk. Traffic is light over here. On your recommendation, I just went online and booked Hotel D'Angleterre. I look forward to my first crossing of the new tunnel/bridge to Sweden.

Please give us a report when you get the time. The bridge/tunnel is pretty impressive especially when seen from the air on approach to Copenhagen Airport.

Fly Me, yes, although I'm a jaded traveler, I'm really excited about this crossing. I'll post my experience as soon as I get to a computer. Thanks again for your hotel advice.

If you really are interested in the bridge there's a nice exhibition in the airport area regarding the construction
... I've done the trip over the bridge a couple of times...

I can also recommend D'Angleterre. I booked in with Amex and got a great suite upgrade overlooking the park below. This is where Madonna, Clapton and others stay when they are in town. You'll see their pictures on the walls of the hallways.

What part of the airport? I must have missed it but would love to see it. Thanks.

It's in the airport area a 5 minutes drive from the airport towards the city....

I stayed at Hotel D'Angleterre Sunday night.

20 minutes and $22 cab ride (all taxis seem to be Mercedes!) from the airport.

Great location for strolling Stroget to Tivoli and drinking beer in the outdoor cafes along the canal in Nyhavn.

Bedroom was five-star, though I was disappointed my expensive upgrade to "superior" still bought me only a back-of-house view.

Young staff at reception and concierge desks were outstanding.

Restaurant was very disappointing. Only one individual doubling as matre 'd and waiter for about a dozen tables and about 40 diners between 8-10 p.m. I enjoyed watching the chefs prepare my dinner in the open kitchen. Unfortunately, my fois gras was hard-as-a-rock from over-refrigeration and my roasted veal was served cold.

I'd go back to Hotel D'Angleterre, but I would try to reserve a Kongens Nytorv view and would eat elsewhere.

Yes, nearly all taxis are Mercedes due to this country's strange taxation policy, they get 60% discount on the car and can after use sell it for full price, often more that they paid... Pricing for new Mercedes with tax starts at 60.000 USD. The official policy is buy one car for you and two for the state = 200 % tax..
