History was created earlier today when me and Johna met in Stockholm for a lunch. When I was flying down to Stockholm I even had my first flight in a Dash which was a pleasant surprise http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Lutfisk wasnt on the menu. Lutfisk can only be found around X-mas time.

So, when is the next meeting? I'll be arriving in Stockholm on the 27th of August and I'll be going back on the 31st.

The complete itinerary is in the Itinerary track.

What will you be doing in Stockholm? There are atleast 3 other people besides me from Sweden who writes on this board, for instance Austman.

Trying to roll in on this one, now that Denmark is practically Swedish and vice versa:
If you're going to CPH between Aug. 12-15, I'll be there for a congress, but probably with plenty of time to spare.

What about that fine dish "surstromming(sp?).

My wife brought that home for me one summer and when I (unknowingly) opened the can, my neighbors down the street complained!

Surströmming is the very popular in the area where I live and I think it has it origin here. In Sweden people either hate it or love it. I would say I like it. How did you eat it? The Swedish way?

If anyone wants to do long-range planning, my GF will be in Sweden sometime around Christmas or New Year's to visit her godson who's taking care of some children there for a few months. I wasn't planning to tag along but might if something really interesting, like a FlyerTalk get-together, was going on. I'll skip the lutfisk, though. I've spent a lot of time in the north-central U.S. with transplanted Scandinivians, so I actually know what it is!

Kempis,

I'll be there on a business trip. I seem to be doing about 6 of'em per year now, so if there can't be ameeting this time, maybe next.

Surströmming? Nej Tack! I tired it once. The little taste I got out of it did not compensate for the smell http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Efrem,

Lutfisk, OTH, isn't too bad, but you have to have it with that white mustard sauce that we have in southern Sweden. You see, besides talking funny http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif we southerners know how to eat http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif (It seems to be universal with southerners)
