Is there a better side of plane for getting a view of Cape Towm and the surrounding area during arrival into CPT?
Thanks!
Left side. At least for the two times I've flown in on BA from LHR. I supposed adverse winds could change the vector.

Depends on which airline you are flying in on. LH and KLM usually do a low level Peninsula tour while BA doesn't. Domestic connections don't bother with that flip and most flights vector in over Tygerberg Hill or over False Bay briefly depending on wind direction.
There is no guarantee which seat is going to be best, but I'd say L too if you can't swing a domestic jumpseat!

South Africa still allows visitors in the flight deck during flight?!?!
Thanks for the info so far. I will be arriving on SAA from JNB and HDS and departing CPT to JNB, also on SAA.

We flew DUR-CPT and my J companion was invited to visit the cockpit and ended up staying in the Jumpseat for the approach into CPT earlier this year. I don't think its likely with SAA! It's not the USA here tho.
