taking advantage of the AA/CX 140k in F usa-hkg-jnb award. we will be going to Jo'berg for 1 week in christmas.

i would appreciate if you have some recommendation on my trip planning.
i suppose Kruger National Park and Cape Town are must go?

shall i rent a car? or fly to capetown?

if i fly from JNB to CPT:
shall i buy ticket locally? or i will be paying full price anyway (as in itn/etc)?
shall i rent a car to go to kruger (from joberg) or join tour locally?
how about around capetowm?

what are the hotel recommendation in JNB/CPT (i have elite status in Hyatt/Starwood, and Hilton Gold)
what about accomodation in kruger?

thanks in advance!!

Cannot speak to jo'burg area but highly recommend "the mother city". Just returned from a 5 night stay that was magnificent! Cape Town is one of the most beautiful places on earth! I would highly recommend The Highlands House(Upper Kenilworth)www.highlands.co.za as a place to stay. It is about 12km from the City, in a quiet residential neighborhood, the staff and owners are very accommodating and will see to all your needs in house and out. They arranged tours for me, 1 day safari, 1 day winery, 1 day peninsula and 1 day whale watching through African Eagle tours. I would fly to Cpt as your time is limited. I do not know about the flts from Jo'burg to the cape as my flt was through Jnb to Cpt. If you need further info. about the Cape area contact Miss Jane or Miss Lynda @ Highlands house. Enjoy your summer vacation in So. Africa!
