I like to have a base when I travel, pack/unpack no more than two or three times.

My next major vacation trip will be to Africa, in a year or so.

I have enough AA miles for the air, haven't choosen routing (from SJC) yet. I will probably plan for a month.

I am reading about the whole continent, haven't chosen countries yet.

I have been looking at the Shongololo Southern Cross http://www.shongololo.com/ train trip. Any experience with this?
