Is it possible to travel to Tripoli without a visa and stay in the transfer area of the airport for an hour or so and leave on the same flight (e.g. arrival at 15:00 departure at 16:05)?

I don't know the answer to your question, but I have always found that Lufthansa has a good information system for such things. I would recommend you contact them.

Can anyone recomand me a hotel in TIP? It ought to be the cheapest possible, and conviniently accessible by public transport from the airport. I need to stay one night in TIP due to a transit.

How can one go from TIP airport to downtown? Are there any public transportation?

Are there any regulations regarding money (e.g. import of LYD, declaration, minimal exchange etc)?

Slightly OT but I have just received my Visa to travel to TIP (Business not a cheap 1st class trip elsewhere) however my colleague had his Visa declined (his passport had been through the wash and they thought it was dodgy).

My problem is that I have no idea when the Visa expires......

Has anyone ever had a Libyan Visa translated who can tell me if the number 45 on the left hand side means the Visa is good for 45 days and if so is it from the issue date (thrid line on right) or the invitation date (bottom of Visa). :confused:
