Any help on inexpensive hotels in Antwerp. Doesn't seem to exactly be a bargain hunters dream location for lodging.

Try Priceline. I recently got a great deal on the Marriott in December for $60 a night in Amsterdam.
Check out the thread "Amsterdam Advice" on this forum and get the link to the priceline board where they explain how to bid for the best possible result.

If you are going on the weekend, look in the diamond district. I *think* that I stayed at the Hotel Diamant. Anyway, these are business style hotels, and on weekends, they drastically cut rates. Close to everything in Antwerp, which isn't really spread out much anyway.
