We will be spending 1 night in Munich before we fly home. We are staying at the Country Inn & Suites which is near the Johannes Kirchen train station on the eastern side of Munich. Expect that we will arrive late morning. What do you recommend we see so that we can enjoy ourselves rather than try to do quantity? Even though we will have a car, I gather it will be better to park it and use public transportation? It is during Oktoberfest ao we would like to experience that too. Any advice you can give us is appreciated. We are novices at traveling in Europe too, if that makes any differences.

BTW, does anyone know how long it takes to drive from Oberstaufen in SW Germany to Munich?

Michelin says 2 hours, however, there are more than one Oberstaufen in Germany.

You should see: Maximilian Str., Rathaus, Viktualien Markt, Marien Kirche, eat at "Nuernberger Bratwurst Gloeckle" next to the church, and go in the evening to Octoberfest.
