We are planning a long weekend in BA in early Feb. I am thinking of staying at the brand new Sofitel. The AA promotion gives triple miles, a possible upgrade, for $140.00.

Has anyone stayed there?

Any other ideas for things to do or places to eat?

It is going to be quite hot at that time. Take a trip up to Tigre from Buenos Aires. You can go there in a boat rather cheaply and it is not too far from Capital Federal.

Eat in Buenos Aires? Go to Cabana las Lilas in Puerto Madero section of Buenos Aires Capital Federal. Best steak in the world and the bread that accompany the meal are awesome. February in BA is too hot for me unless there is a beach involved. Punta del Este or Pinamar or Mar del Plata if you are willing to do a long drive or a short flight and can schedule it in reasonably.

If you are looking for places to party it up, I know those too well down there.
