Kempinski / Parkplaza have some very attractive rates in their properties $50-$80 per night depending on the property

They have 4 hotels in BUE ... 3 seem to be fairly downtown

Anyone have any experience of these hotels and could recommend one or the other .

Alternatively would it be better to choose a totally different hotel ?

There is more active Buenos Aires discussions in South America on this FT Travel forum. You are more likely to get some help there.

I know the Four Seasons (fmr. Park Hyatt), Alvear Palace, Hilton, Sheraton Park Tower and Holiday Inn Express Puerto Madero hotels in Buenos Aires very well. Perhaps Gaucho (or one of his compatriots) can help you with matters regarding the Kempinski hotels in particular since I do not know them.
