I am looking for recommendation of beach hotels/resorts in Belize, which have pool etc.. but from where I can also get some good scuba diving done.
I would prefer small/boutique places not too crowded, but may consider bigger/chain hotels/resorts.
Must be on the beach and offer that "something special".
Any suggestions would be appreciated (including URLs).

Oh yes, of course post if you have/did not write it up for the trip reports section. Where you stayed and what you thought of it is that firsthand knowledge that makes Flyertalk so vital (FYI to lurkers, that is why your opinion DOES MATTER so post it!)
thanks.
We stayed at the Singing Sands in Placencia - main reason was we wanted beach front and budget.
The place was good - almost all of the time we had the whole place to ourselves. The people were very friendly and extremely helpful. They also have a good pool - because the beach/water was not always swimmable. Main thing against it was no food (although breakfast is included and served ) - but a store is walking distance, and most restaurant will come and get you if you call.
It's not a posh place - no A/C, no TV, no phone. That suited us. If you want something more developed this place is not for you (a couple had arrived and were shocked there was no A/C (even thought the website clearly states this) - so they left after one night).
It is out of town - which we found quite good - would not have wanted to stay in town - a quick visit was enough. All tours organized from there and we were picked up.
It is obviously not on the same par with Turtle Inn down the road - but neither are the prices.
I think we paid around $80 per night.
Hope this helps

We posted our 1999 trip report here: http://www.batnet.com/bogart/
If we were to do it over, we would stay at Luba Hati or Robert's and dive from the the Rum Point Inn boat.
