To summarize, corrupt immigration officials pass on an arriving passenger's name and hotel destination (part of the info you give them on the immigration paperwork) to someone who poses as a driver for the hotel. When you walk out of immigration and into the airport, the 'hotel driver' is standing there with one of those signs with your name on it. You get in his car, you drive away, and they rob you. If you are not expecting the hotel to pick you up, be careful. If you are expecting a driver, verify who he is before you get in the car.

Also, only use your telephone credit card number if you can direct dial it, like with AT&T. If the hotel operator asks you for the number, hang up.
