Anyone stay at either of these properties? I'm planning on staying at them fairly soon and am looking for some first hand feedback.

While I haven't stayed at the Jaypee in Agra, I have stayed at the Amarvilas, and it has to be one of the nicest places I've stayed at anywhere.

The view of the Taj is amazing b/c this hotel is the only one (I think) inside the "clean zone" that surrounds the Taj. With all the other ones, if they have a view of the Taj at all, the view is masked by the smog in Agra, which at night, makes the air virtually unbreathable.

Amarvilas is an Oberoi property. If you decide not to stay there, at least visit it and have a drink on the deck overlooking the Taj. It's amazing.

Whenever an Oberoi property is pitted against another in India, it is a no-contest. Amarvilas, an Oberoi resort, is the best in Agra. By a long shot. I haven't stayed there, but have heard enough firsthand reports to believe them.
