Just was hoping that people could go ahead and compile a list of the Award Mileage required for tickets to India from North America.

Since different airlines have different requirements. For eg CO & NW require at least 80,000 min while on BA you could go for 75000 miles

I guess this board does not get enough traffic :-)

As a strategy I usually recommend economy travel with paid tickets to India (you can get mileage earning fares for under $1200 RT from West Coast and under $900 RT from East Coast). At 2 cents a miles it is cheaper to buy these (accumulate the miles) and use the miles for business/first class travel. If you value miles at 1 cent/mile that is a different story.

The best premier award I am aware of is Concorde+First via BA. It is 150,000 miles from anywhere in North America - F to JFK, Concorde JFK-LHR, F LHR-DEL/BOM/MAA/CCU (if booked online with the current promotion you get 5000 mile discount at 145,000). If you want vanilla business it is 100,000 miles (and you get 5K miles discount for online booking while the promotion runs). It is better to fly to DEL on BA if BOM is sold out.

AA has a AA+JAL award and that is better than BA award. Usually you get much better availability in premium cabins when economy is capacity controlled. AA also has awards via CX and Swiss code shares.

With SQ book way ahead. Also, SQ sells a lot through consolidators. Sometimes, it works out cheaper to buy mileage earning fares at higher price rather than choose the rock bottom consolidator prices (the same TA can offer both). Consolidators can even discount business class steeply if you know the right one and if it is not a peak season.
