Need one night in Freo in March
Driving
To visit Maritime Museum, Historic boat museum in afternoon, spend the night, see the Goal, then off to Kings park and Perth

Any experience with Esplanade Hotel or Pier 21 Resort? Especially the latter as it is much less costly. Parking?

G'day again,

I have a feeling that Pier 21 is not actually "in Freo", but more isolated in north Fremantle. Friday and Saturday evenings offer the best Freo experience.
You may know that the gaol also offers candlelight tours on Wed & Fri at 7.30pm.
I can pop down to the Freo tourist board if you need some info, as they have accommodation in historic homes too.

Stayed 2 nights at the Harbour Village Quest Apts. Average. Some repairs are really needed. Parking behind a locked gate, but no barrier to walkers. 2 story rooms. Our had a fairly nice view. A$175/nt., 2 bedroom (upgrade? from the one bedroom we requested). A little tricky to find the first time. Really close to lots of fish eateries and McDonalds. Walk to Maritime Museum and Historic Boat Museum. Washer/Dryer in unit, but very small and dryer wrinkles everything. Small hot tub. It was often used as a bath tub for infants when we were there (we passed). Marginal value, surely there is something better.

I stayed at the Harbour Village Quest some 3-4 years ago, and liked it very much. It's not the greatest luxury, but I really loved the huge terrace right above the water, the view and the location. At that time, the rooms were in good condition, but I am not sure how it is now.
