Arriving late into PER. Need a motel close to PER AP and easy to find (will rent car at AP, National-domestic). Will be rising early to drive to Bunbury (targeting arrival about 9am.)
Parking, self contained, easy to find, close to AP (or in the Bunbury direction), modest cost (sleep and go) in that order.
Thanks.

Have a look at www.lastminute.com (http://www.lastminute.com) 's australian site (could be www.au.lastminute.com (http://www.au.lastminute.com) or www.lastminute.com.au (http://www.lastminute.com.au) ). Special rates are posted regularly.
Thanks for the site reference.
I was hoping someone familar with the AP area could help. I cannot seem to find a AP motel site on the internet I am not staying until March. This site does not cover that far out. Plus cost is my last criterion

From what I recall abpout PER, there doesn't seem to be a lot of tourist infrastructure (hotels or motels) near the airport. It's either in the town (quite a ways from PER) or along the coast. You might want to search for Bers address (I think that is the name) as he's a native.
Dear ranles,
I'm looking at the Perth yellow pages as I type....
The only motel I'm familiar with near the Perth Domestic airport is the "Bel Eyre" located at 285 Great Eastern Hwy. I used this hotel when I was based in Houston and booking oil rig crew to overnight in Perth. There is another called Marracoonda down the road at 375 Great Eastern Highway.
If you would like to email me with the date, I'll call them to check rates for you, and do some more research. I believe there are a few "motels" in that area, however, some may be pretty low standards.
Need to make sure we are on track and you will be arriving at the domestic airport and not the international one which is further south. Bunbury is a 2hr 15 min drive from Perth, according to the tourist board brochure.
Glad to be able to help in some small way.

We stayed at the inter city motel. It is beautiful from the street looking in. They have a lot of outside amenities and a eatery, BUT the rooms are concrete block cells from Afganistan? The bed was a foam matress. The towels were so thin you could read the paper thru them. The shower does not have a stall or tub, just depends on the slanted floor and curtain! Tiny room. The place is really noisy. This is really a poor choice, but very deceiving from the outside. I would never stay there again. There are several other cheap places to stay one of which must be better than this one. A$81.90 per night. We arrived late and left early. Note there is a McDonalds down the street for a dependable am breakfast.
