I will visit the red centre in november. I intend to take a car to go to the main places. Does anybody have experiences with finding parking places during that time? Will it be difficult?

The red centre of Australia is very crowded and space is at a premium.

At peak times, average population density soars to more than one person per square hundred miles.

Some well-informed sources suggest leaving the car at the parking station near the bus-terminal in Darwin, then catching the daily shuttle-bus to the various attractions around Alice Springs and Uluru. However, with careful planning, this is really not necessary.

At Uluru itself, there are a variety of parking areas. When arriving at Uluru, I find most cars continue straight on (ie: circling the rock anti-clockwise). However, if you turn right just before you get to the rock (and circle it clockwise), there are often many empty parking bays which you get to first.

At Kata-tjuta, there are usually empty parking spots at the second parking area, if you find the first one full.

Alice Springs can get crowded, especially near the shopping centre and the fish-and-chip shop (which does a decent barramundi).

I suggest taking a few lemons along with you from a cooler-climate area (but not from another country as there are quarrantine rules) and have your passenger go inside and give them as a gift to the people in the fish-and-chip shop. They genuinely appreciate any lemons as they are difficult to come by in the red-centre. In appreciation, they will certainly give you good local advice as to where you can park your car.
