My original thread has gotten a bit long so I thought I'd post this one as a standalone:
In Queensland we'll be taking the train overnight from Cooroy to either Mackay or Prosperine to save my mom the driving, and then pick up a rental car. At Mackay this would be at the airport, at Prosperine it seems like Airlie Beach is most convenient (it's our destination for that day anyway).
Anyone know how much a taxi/shuttle would cost for 3 people at either place? Do we need to book the transfers in advance? If we pick up the car in Mackay how long would it take to get to Airlie Beach?
