We're headed to DR in a few weeks. Staying at the Hilton Coral Hamaca. Has anyone got first hand suggestions for golf. Hubby wants to play while there.
Any info on the Hamaca would be appreciated also.

My first post.
I'm not a golfer, but I visited Santo Domingo last August for the Pan American games. I split my stays between small hotels in the Zona Colonial, the Hamaca in Boca Chica, and The Embassy Suites in Juan Dolio.
The Hamaca is a nice all-inclusive. I had a large room with a large balcony and a limited view of the beach. The food was good but nothing to write home about. Boca Chica is an ideal location if you have a rental car. It is located near the airport and an equal distance between Santo Domingo and Juan Dolio. The new highway makes driving somewhat less harrowing than on the north coast.
For the golfer I would recommend the Embassy Suites. It's located in a luxury residential area with a very nice golf course right next door. The resort is new, the rooms were excellent, and the staff was great.

Thanks,
We stay at the Coral Hamaca and had a nice time. My husband played the Guavaberry course. He said it was awsome.
