I searching for a property on the beach with or near a casion. So far, I'm considering the Wyndham Condado Plaza Casion & Resort. If you have any information about the Wyndham or other suitable properties, please advise.

My fave resort w/Casino in San Juan is the El San Juan.

Marriott was ok.

For those who have been recently it looks like the Condado Hotel is now a Wyndham? If so, I've enjoyed my stays at the Condado. We preferred seaside as opposed to lagoon rooms.

The Wyndham was offering a buy 3 get 4th night free offer online.

How far is El San Juan from the beach?

The Wyndham El San Juan Hotel and Casino is directly located on one of the widest and nicest of the San Juan beaches. It is one of the top 10 hotels in PR.

OTOH the Wyndham Condado hotel beach is very poor but the hotel is definately OK. Nice unusable surf, splashing waves/breezes and a pleasure to go asleep to if you open your hotel windows.

I prefer the Intercontinental in Isla Verde. The beach area is better and the hotel is lovely.

Any of those is good....definitely the San Juan Hotel is in a better beach than the Condado one, and it is a nicer property...

If you really want to splurge and don't mind going 45 mins out of San Juan (there is a shuttle offered by the hotel) try El Conquistador Hotel in Fajardo (eastern Puerto Rico)... I believe it is a Wyndham hotel as well... it is the only casino I have seen with an incredible ocean view, and they have a boat to a private beach 10-15 mins offshore.

If case you are wondering, there is also a Hyatt hotel in Dorado (west of San Juan), the problem there is that the beach is not great.

would anyone consider the CONDADO PLAZA HOTEL a "resort?"

any info on the beach/is there a beach? i have heard the hotel doesn't own the beach, it's public. if so, can you have a pino colada on the beach? is there drink/meal/towel/chair service? is it a nice beach? is it relaxing or on the side of a major roadway?

thanks.

I really don't think of the Condado as a resort as the beach area leaves much to be desired. The El San Juan and The Intercontinental are in Isla Verde which is much more like a resort. The El San Juan is a beautiful destination, with the Intercontinental being a bit cheaper and not as fancy. But they both have better beaches and resort ambiance than anything in the Condado area.
