I will be at the Jalousie Hilton next week and am wondering what communication options I will have. Will my CDMA cell phone work? Are land lines a total ripoff like in Aruba ans Saint Martin?

I was in St Lucia in February & spent a fair amount of time on the Jalousie beach. If your CDMA phone isn't dual mode (i.e., if it can't fall back to AMPS [analog]), then forget it.
Also, as you can see at http://www.caribcell.com/m-stl.html , coverage in the Soufriere region is very spotty. There's a big tower on the southern edge of Soufriere town, so (as indicated by the C&W map) coverage there is quite good. At the Hilton, though, where you're surrounded on 3 sides (piton/ridge/piton), I doubt there's a good signal.
My advice: Turn the phone off if you can & enjoy the island.
