I'm planning an anniversity trip to Bonaire and/or Curacao. I'm having problems finding decent flights with decent prices. It seems that I would need at least 2, probably 3 legs to get to these islands. Usually, not a problem, but we have some time constraints on this trip.
Anyone has any tips or advices on flights, agents specializing in these islands, wholesalers, etc?
Other than AA, what airlines fly to Bonaire from the US?

AA is pretty much the game-in-town. HOwever, if you want, take Air Jamaica to Montego Bay and from there get to Bonaire.
There just might be a puddle-jumper from Aruba. Or KLM could fly you via AMS to Bonaire http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/smile.gif

I flew ALM to Bonaire, but had to go through Miami and Curacao. One stop to Curacao, but two to Bonaire. I flew out of LAX, by the way. No way of getting around the arriving in the evening and departing in the morning problem either.

Not sure what you're interested in but, I would strongly recommend spending your time in Bonaire, not Curacao. This is especially true if you dive.

We don't dive, but we're avid snorkelers. Could you please tell me why you didn't like Curacao? I'm just curious, because it seems like Curacao is just a little easier to get to and from than Bonaire. I was curious to see the European architecture in Curacao...

I've traveled to both places numerous times. Curacao is much more built up. Crime can be an issue. Beaches are not particularly beautiful. If you're into gambling, there is some. If you want to see the architecture, you can do it in a day (maybe spend one day on the way in or out..it is kind of cute). However, other than the cute Dutch buildings, I don't find the downtown particularly charming and there are many downright ugly areas. Just not my idea of a vacation spot.
It isn't that big a deal going between Bonaire and Curacao on the local commuter flights
I personally prefer Bonaire's much more laid back and quiet atmosphere. Though it isn't as quiet and undeveloped as it used to be, depending on your preferences, you might find it too quiet.
