I'm leaving for St. John in a few days and was wondering what the dress code was like on that particular island. Does it cool down significantly at night where I need to bring pants, or is this a wear shorts 24 hours a day place? And will I have problems getting into some places if this is how I dress? I'm also trying to pack light, can I wear sandals out everywhere at night?

Shorts 24 hours/day. You might need long pants at Caneel Bay or Little Dix (Virgin Gorda). Maybe pack one pair.
