I'm planning a vacation in June and I am torn between two islands.
St. John
Grand Cayman
I've looked at Fodor's and Frommer's but I would appreciate your personal comments about your experiences there.

My husband and I were married on St John late last year, and then spent a week there. We both loved it.
The beaches including Trunk Bat, Hawksnest etc are beautiful and you can do day trips to St Thomas, or the British Virgin Islands. You have to go to Jost Van Dyke..it's a great little Island.
And you haven't lived until you have eaten the ribs at Smokey Joes http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/smile.gif
I haven't been to Grand Cayman so can't compare the two. If you have acess to AOL, there is a great travel board on there that I found very useful for our trip. I am sure lots of people on thee would be more than happy to offer their experience and advice.
I think which ever one you choose you will have a great time.

Unless you plan to scuba dive, I would recommend St John. Grand Cayman is very expensive, and really lacks scenery. There isn't a lot to do on Cayman except scuba and beach.
IMHO.

Agree with above. Only reason to go to Cayman is diving.
