I recently played a truly great golf course in Ingonish, Nova Scotia. We flew into Sydney, NS, and drove 1 & 1/2 hours to Ingonish. The course is apparently owned by the government, but was in wonderful shape. The 1936 course apparently was re-designed. It is ranked by Golf Digest in the top 60 in the world, and I now know why. It was fabulous. It is located on the ocean, but holes go up in the hills and through the natural trees. The design and beauty make it hard to beat.
