I'll be doing a transit at YVR arriving late, leaving early. Any recs for which airport hotel to stay at?

There is a Holiday Inn Express in the airport area with complimentary shuttle service. You can check it out at:

No Starwood hotels nearby. How late and arrival/early a departure do you have?

The Fairmount hotel above the U.S. departures area has rates from as low as $149/nt. Everything else (with (free) shuttle busses) are 5-10 minutes away in the municipality of Richmond and would include a Hampton Inn and a Hilton (rates as low as $129-139/nt), Radisson, Delta (2 actually), a few independent motels/hotels as well as the previously mentioned Holiday Inn.

The best hotel is the new Fairmont over top the airport (highly recommended if you like watching the runways).

Second choice I would say is the Delta...

Go for the Fairmont. Stayed there last August, it is a really nice airport hotel. Very nice rooms, good breakfast buffet. Plus the rooms are really soundproof!

I just booked a night at the Fairmont in July (post cruise). Four rooms at $65 USD/night each or $77 with all taxes and fees. I wanted this hotel and found out by reading http://www.biddingfortravel.com that the Fairmont Vancouver Airport is the only 4* in the YVR airport zone that anyone has ever reported getting through priceline.
