I would be interested in any information you might wish to share with us.
Several relatives, as well as my family, will be going on an Alaska cruise (Dawn Princess), in early August.

Yes, I would like to hear some short trip report, too.
A one week cruise from Seattle or Vancouver has been a dream for me now for some years. Problem is I can't convince my wife. She likes 'beach holidays' more.
And I found traveling as a single on the ships VERY expensive.

I love the Dawn Princess, they will have a blast in Alaska. We were there a few years ago the second week in August, it was an excellent trip. They will need twice as much film as they were planning on.
As to single rooms (though hopefully you said it in Jest), ask your travel agent to check some ships have two or three small cabins they don't charge the single supplement for.

What was the age group on the cruise? My brother really wants to go with his wife, but thinks he needs to wait until he is 55-60.

There are all age groups on just about every cruise.
Tell your brother not to wait until he is that old....tell him to "got for it" :-)

He goes on a lot of cruises. They both love them. They even went on a Disney Cruise with the kids. He just has this silly Idea that a Cruise to Alaska is for an older crowd. I continually tell him how silly he is...but...I am just his younger sister so he never listens to me. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/smile.gif

A cruise to Alaska is an older crowd, but there were plenty of people in their 20's, 30's, etc. We were on our honeymoon, there were 15 other couples on theirs, and we met some very impressive 90+ people too.
So while there are older people there, there are many young ones too, and more then expected families with young teens who were very interested in it all.
We were on Princess.

I have heard that the "older crowd" cruises to Alaska, or to the Panama Canal, or they don't go on Carnival or Princess because they are "younger people ships."
I have been on Carnival, Norwegian and Royal.
Each one has old and youn people.
Also, age is a state of mind :-)

The cheaper the cruise, the younger the crowd. In the summer there will be some younger couples on the Alaska cruise but most of the younger crowd does the cheap cruises to Mexico and the Caribbean.

We went on Crown Princess and it was definitely an older crowd. One poor couple, honeymooners in their early 30's, were desperate to find someone their age. I think you have to be 80! We were young on that ship at 55 and 60. One guy died the first night out. That was when we learned about the ship's morgue...
Crown, by the way, had awful food and worse service.
