Having never been on a cruise before, the wife and I decided to give it a shot next Jan and I've been looking out for deals. Found a good one for a three day cruise at $234 per person on travel.yahoo.com on the Norwegian Cruise Line. The phone agent assures me that it is for an outside room with the possibility of an upgrade. Does someone have an insight on this particular company and their ships and the deal that I'm getting? The ship that we are considering is called the Norwegian Sea.

under $100/day/person can't be a bad deal. remember, however that you will have tips, possibly port charges, bar charges, botique, casino , shore excursions , internet charges & perhaps others.

The Norweigan Sea is a very nice ship. My neighbors cruised on her in late September and had a good time. A 3 day cruise is really just a taste. Likely you'll cruise again for a longer time. Their site will also show you photos and deck plans as well as explain the 'Freestyle Cruising'. (dine when and where you please)
