We are planning a cruise sometime during the upcoming months.

I have been checking pricing on websites and I have asked my T/A about wether or not there will be a charge for our infant son (who will just be 1 year old at the time of the cruise). It appears that some cruise lines charge and some do not.

Do most cruise lines charge for infants. I can understand for children, but our infant son will not be needing his own bed (we will bring on board a porta-crib) and will not be eating any significant amount of food (other than a few crackers to keep him occupied, he still eats baby food.).

Thanks for your help.

You had him....you pay for him...one of the first in a long line of monetary outputs you'll make... http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/smile.gif) on his behalf.

A cruise ship might not be the healthiest place for an infant to be but people do bring them. It is amazing how 'bugs' can get around on a cruise ship. Also there are some port stops, such as Haiti, where I wouldn't take a small child off the boat. Haiti is one of the few places in the world that still has polio.

That said, even if you aren't charged for a ticket for your child, please tip your room steward who will be doing more work on your regard.

Cruise prices are so cheap now, they are nearly unbelievable. We are working with a travel agent who is bargain hunting for us.
