Last November, I went to Las Vegas and stayed at the Luxor. Overall, I was impressed with the hotel and facilities. This fall, I am planning to go back to Las Vegas again and have thought about staying at the Luxor again, but someone suggested that I consider Monte Carlo or Paris.

Has anyone stayed at the Luxor and at least one of the other properties and have any suggestions one way or the other?

Have stayed at the Luxor and the Paris. Paris is great. Prefer it over the Luxor by a long shot. Better location. Nice rooms (although I spend better part of my time at the blackjack tables). Easy to get to room elevators from main entrance (i.e. not walking directly through a bunch of slot machines to get there). Good choice of restaurants. Top notch.

Skip the Monte Carlo compared to Luxor or Paris. Seeing as you've experienced Luxor, I would try Paris.

Book your trip at PARIS. Much better hotel, and best location. Newer hotel, but the casino can get crowded and tight.

Thanks for the advice. I will look into staying at Paris on my upcoming trip.

Paris is a much nicer and better located facility. Outstanding restaurants.

I guess it depends on one's perspective. Paris is a much newer hotel and is typically priced significantly higher than Luxor. I have stayed at Luxor and the newer Mandalay Bay (next door-tram ride). Both have rooms that are comparable to business class hotels. Luxor is normally the value of the two because it is older (but not shabby). My opinion only but Mandalay Bay has some of the best resturants in LAS. They are priced accordingly.

When in Las Vegas how much time do you spend in the room?

The Paris feels really crowded quickly and the Monte Carlo is not very attractive. Why restrict your choice to these two, when better hotels have also great deals.

Check the Venetian - it's really very pleasant. Also the Mandalay Bay has great facilities and good rooms.

Not sure who you're booking with but check out the rates and call the hotel direct - you might get a good surprise.

I definately agree with the above post about calling the hotels directly for their rates, as they often have unadvertised specials. All the hotels in LV have 800 numbers (you can find them on their websites) and it may save you some dollars when booking. Also, wherever you play, be sure to get their players card, as this gets you on the hotels' mailing lists for special offers and comps. I recently got mailed offers of $119 for Venetian and some free nights at Harrahs (okay, Harrahs is older, but....), so if you play, use the cards for comps and lowered rates on your next visit. Also recently saw rates of $99 for the Mandalay (also because I enjoy playing there), so anywhere you play, get their players card, and use it.
Just my 1 1/2 cents.

Have a good trip--and WIN!!!

Definitely not the Monte Carlo, incredibly poor management. Was in Vegas a few weeks ago and made the rounds. I would go with the Mandalay Bay, if you can afford it, very nice. The New York New York for a more moderately priced stay, should be under $100/night.

The Monte Carlo's standard rooms are tiny. The Monaco Suites are nothing to write home about either.
