I've stayed at about 12 different places on the strip and downtown (MGM, Rio, Riv, Barbury, Bally's, Trop, Excalibur, Monte, NYNY, Flamingo, Lady Luck) and gambled in almost every casino in town.
Two trips ago, I had an excellent time playing BJ at the Holiday Inn Boardwalk. The dealers and floor people are a laugh RIOT. After about 9 hours and 18 Coronas, a nice lady came past and asked for my ID so she could fill out a Club Card application for me. I continued playing ($5 - $10 hands) for several more hours and went back to the NYNY.
After I got home, I got a newsletter from the hotel advertising $35-65 a night rooms at the Holiday in Vegas. I called the number, and discovered I had over $90 in comps built up on my card!
I went back to Vegas last weekend, and stayed at the HI for the first time. The rooms are not fancy or large, but very clean and comfy. There were no long lines at the Valet, Bell Desk, or Front Desk. I have to say I had a great time! It only takes 2 minues to get off the elevator and make it to the strip. The MGM, NYNY, etc are very close.
At the end of my stay, the manager asked if I wanted a ride to the airport for $6, and he had someone bring me there in a very nice sedan.
I had over $150 in comps on my card at the end of my second visit there, and it more than paid for the cost of my room for 2 nights. I plan on staying there from now on.
