Any courses in Vegas not over $100?
It seems every website I look at is $150 - $200 for 18 holes.

There are many other sources to research on cheap golf rates in LAS. First of all try some of the consolidators that offer tee times in major cities (have not used in LAS, but have used in Hawaii). There are coupons for these folks in the Las Vegas coupon books. Try these:
Secondly you might check with the concierge at your hotel.
Next I recommend that you subscribe to one of the Las Vegas ezines. I subscribe to a few, but enjoy "Viva Las Vegas". Here is the info on how to subscribe:

Some friends and I are meeting in LV, and we would like to play golf on Friday, May 14th early morning (to avoid the heat). We prefer to only pay $100 or less, including club rental. Any ideas?

Just found a website for Wolf Creek Golf in Mesquite, NV. Just wondering if it's as nice as it looks and if it's worth the little over hour drive from Las Vegas or if we should just stay and play in Vegas. If staying in Vegas, what are a couple of nice courses to try?

Price range? Handicap? Home course Slope rating?

My personal favorite - and I have played pretty much everything at least once - is Primm Valley. It's a 40 mile drive south on I-15 into California. If you stay at an MGM Mirage property (MGM Grand, Mirage, Bellagio, NY NY, TI) you get a substantial discount on green fees.
Others I like and play often are Silverstone (35 mins, 27 holes desert style), Paiute (45 mins on Indian reservation, nothing around for miles but desert, 54 holes), Badlands (25 mins and very challenging course, if you're over 15 handicap, don't go there), Rhodes Ranch (20 mins and quire reasonably priced, part of gated master planned community), Tuscany (35 mins near Lake Las Vegas, brand new course, opened in '05 for the time being not many homes around and still incredible views of the city), Las Vegas National (15 mins older course and somewhat challenging with tight fairways, probably closest course to the Strip) and Revere (25 mins not too challenging, nice city views). All times are from the middle of Strip.
Courses I'd personally (and this is only 1 man's opinion) not recommend but which are often on "must-play": lists: Angel Park (boring, boring, boring), Bali Hi (highway robbery), any of the Lake Las Vegas courses which I know most people like but I found to be pretty un-extraordinary. Great views of the city, don't know if that's worth $300 green fees.

Our group (American Amateur Golf Tour) is having a tournament there 2/24 - 2/26. It's our third year, and can't say enough nice things about the place.

I know one must be a guest to play - just wondering how much? The (otherwise excellent) Wynn website doesn't say. Looks like a fun course, too! Anyone played it?

Last I heard it was $500 a round, which includes caddy.

I've heard it was $500 but don't know if the person was joking or boasting. Wonder if anyone has experience with getting this comped?

$500/round + tips. Unless you're an invited RFBA+++++ guest of the hotel, don't count on gettin it comped. For less money, I would go play Shadow Creek...Wynn's first foray into golf...and considered by many to be better than the Wynn course that he had Fazio design.

I thought it might be around $500 or so.
I thought Shadow Creek was impossible to get on? Or is that old news?

Shadow Creek is available to all guests staying at MGM Mirage properties.
$500 at Wynn is an inflated price to make RFB+ (think $550 per hand/four hours per day) players feel like they're getting something special complimentary. Otherwise, hardly anyone actually pays that much.
I did read a review once on TripAdvisor (not the most reliable source in my opinion) that someone scored it for $250. Maybe there's some kind of seasonal discount?

For some reason I doubt that they were given that rate. Maybe they had built up $250 in comp dollars on their account and that paid half of it! ;)
It's a gorgeous course but I don't blame Wynn for wanting to tear it down. It's on a piece of land worth a few hundred million...and he spent 10% of that to build a golf course that generates very little revenue because of the high price.

I inquired about the course when staying there, and it was indeed $500. I also highly doubt someone only paid $250. Bargains don't seem to be the Wynn's thing. There are some courses that I would pay $500 for play, that's just not one of them. Hell, St. Andrews in Scotland was only $25, granted it took quite a bit more to just get over there. Our room faced the course and we were very high up so I could see how many people were playing, and I never saw more than 2 groups at any given time on the course.

Anybody have any ideas on golf courses, that aren't incredibly expensive and aren't a long distance from the strip, in Vegas. I am trying to organize a summer bachelor party and would like to get a round in. Thanks!

I'm interested in this as well (bump). I'm going to Vegas on Mem Day for the week and am looking for a course designed for terrible golfers like myself.

"Not incredibly expensive" is not a term usually associated with Las Vegas golf, especially close to the strip. A couple of my favorite reasonably priced courses that are 30-40 minutes from the strip are Boulder Creek Golf Course in Boulder City and Angel Park Golf Course in Summerlin.
Please remember how hot it will be during the summer when planning your tee times. If at all possible do your golf before the serious bachelor party activities, so you still have the ability to make an early tee time.
scn, Angel Park could be good for you too. They have a Par 3 course that I haven't played yet, but looks pretty good. It's also lighted, so you could play at night which would be fun.

My parents have played Angel Park in the past and really enjoyed the Par 3 on hot summer evenings. They used to have connections at the Desert Inn before Wynn got a hold of it and said it was worth the price (they paid 1/2 the regular green fees). I thought about going for our bachelor party next month but everyone except me arrives at 10 PM Friday and leaves at 9 AM Sunday. Not really enough time to do everything.

There is also a municipal course in Henderson, Wild Horse, which is reasonably close to the strip and reasonably priced. It's not the best course in the world, but it's decent. It's on Warm Springs Road and Green Valley Parkway.
You may also be able to get a discount on summer tee times due to the heat, which may allow you to get to a more expensive course for a more reasonable price, but I think those summer rates generally kick in after Memorial Day.

2 things to look at...
1. www.golfnow.com for discount tee times. I've used it for Vegas, Dallas, and San Francisco and never had a problem.
2. Check out this book ---> http://www.shoplva.com/ProductDetail.cfm?ItemNumber=1536

The feedback has been great and the website is a really big help. Just a follow up to the initial post. It looks like it is a good deal to get the tee times and hotel separate but if anyone has done a package deal that turned out to save some moola that would also be great to hear about.

i played the Falls course last year and that is a good course - a little expensive - i think i paid $180 in June - this is not on the strip though - it is by Lake Las Vegas by the Hyatt. The back nine is very pretty as it has a lot of elevation changes. You can also get a caddie to assist but they have to be requested in advance. The other course Reflection Bay at Lake Las Vegas is supposed to very nice too but i have not played that.
