It looks like that I will have to go with thrifty no matter what. They were the cheapest that I could find and being that I leave in a week, trying to find a good rate somewhere else this late is next to impossible. I just want to know what to expect when I get to LV. I will be getting to the bus pickup area close to 5pm on 7/14. Anything to contribute good or bad, please do. Thank you.

They have now moved from their Warm Springs (aka BFE) location to a more centralized location inside the airport complex.

I have not rented since they moved their facility. Good thing they moved, because my last rental there would have been my 1st/and last due to their awful location.

I have a rental with Thrifty in LAS on the weekend of Jul 24th. As you stated, they were much cheaper than anywhere else.

Thanks for replying. Just out of curiosity, where is Warm Springs (BFE)? Was that somewhere near the airport in LAS or what? It just doesn't sound familiar to me.

Thanks

It was the first exit going the opposite way from the airport (i.e. Henderson direction). I personally liked the location, especially with the Starbucks next door. Got the car and a coffee at the same time.

I also liked the old location. While it was the furthest out (Bum ----- Egypt), it had great access to the strip by just driving a little bit West. No traffic to speak of that far south of all the action and easy to get back to for dropping off the car.

As far as good or bad experiences, we've only had one problem and that was several years ago. Otherwise it's all be good. We are a member of their Blue Chip program so we never wait very long for a car. It's usually parked out front waiting on us when we arrive.

Warm Springs Road runs E/W (parallel to Tropicana - about 4 miles south for a reference point.)

I didn't like the location due to the shuttle ride to/from the airport. It took us over 15 minutes from the time we boarded the shuttle to the time we reached the lot. The return trip was about 10 minutes. Either way, I just hate wasting ANY time while in Vegas :-)

As the other poster stated, be sure to join their Blue Chip frequent renter program. It makes the process much smoother. I've had real good experiences with it in other cities.

Has horrid experience there and will NEVER rent from them in LAS again. Others also reported problems. There is an old thread but I don't have time to search for it now.

Well Altaflyer, I had a perfectly flawless time getting my car in Vegas. I walked out of the baggage claim at 5 PMand saw a Thrifty bus sitting there and walked right on. The driver promptly took our bags and even commented on my wife's pedicure. (Her toenails were painted orange). We arrived at the site about 5 min later and walked right up to the Blue Chip counter. My paperwork was printed and waiting for me an all I had to do was show my Blue Chip card, my license and my credit card that I made the ressie with. He then told me that my car was right out front in space b-6. I walked out to my red Neon, checked to make sure everything was in order and drove away. No problem. We were heading to the Strip by 5:30 PM.

When we returned I pulled up to the return, the attendant did his thing, gave me a slip and asked me to step inside and finish the paperwork. The return desk was empty and the lady behind the counter was very nice and efficient and sent me on my way. I threw a slight curve by telling her I wanted to pay for the car on a different credit card. No problem. Caught the bus withing 5 min and it was the same driver! The first thing he said was "hey it's those toes again!" as my wife giggled. All in all a flawless rental. Granted we might have been there at the less busy times: 5:30 pm arr. and 8 PM dep, but thats's the point isn't it? I booked those flights on purpose to be there when they wouldn't be swamped.

Hope this helps.

By the way, even though we had a Neon with 9300 miles, it ran great. The air came out frosty, once the car warmed up and got moving and it was a definite trade down to my Envoy, but it got us to where we wanted to go. I wouldn't recommend it if you have more that 2 people and/or 2 bags. I had one suitcase and my golf clubs. The club carrier had to go on the back seat.

Happy travelling!
