Thrifty has just moved into a new facility at Ft. Lauderdal. What a mess. I'm not sure what these crazy people are thinking. In addition to being a not as convenient location as the old facility, the place is totally jammed in. The knuckleheads didn't have the forethought (or were too cheap) to build a separate exit for the airport bus. So when you're trying to get out of the place you get to wait in line behind all the exiting cars. Ugh.

Alamo is still on Federal Hwy, choose that if the rates are cheap enough. Everytime I rent from Thrifty I scratch my head and wonder what the hell I was thinking. It's just not worth the hassle. At least Blue Chip is working more like the big boy companies.

One more thing. There was no map in the car and none at the checkout booth. So I had to double back inside to ask for a map. Of course they didn't have any so I was handed a photo copied piece of junk. Amazing. Then I had to wait in that wonderful line to exit again.

End of rant.

Ugh! Will pick up a car on Fri Am and this is the first I hear of Thrifty's move. Thanks again for FT, but the old mess was convenient, once I figured out where it was and how to get there on the return.

Just where are they now! It might mean changing my rental plans!

Well I picked up and dropped off a car at the new location right next to the Hertz lot! Hertz makes it easy to find the Thrifty lot by driving past the Hertz lot!

There was NO mess. In fact, the new Trifty lot is a BIG improvement with seperate Entry and Exit driveways. The airport vans can pull up easily to the PICKUP area under a shaded area across from the indoor Rental desk.

A least there is NOT one big jumble of people, airport vans, and cars coming and going in all dirctions, as at the old rental lot!


I would say it is a MAJOR IMPROVEMENT!
