Do not rent here unless you actually want to rent from "Rent a Wreck". On what planet is it reasonable to rent someone a 2000 car with 38,000 or worse 44,000 miles on it without functioning Air Conditioning? Apparently Thrifty Las Vegas thinks this is just fine. After putting up a fuss I got to drive a new car with less than 10,000 miles on it but only after a "I'm not leaving until you fix this" proposal.
I admit the rate was incredibly cheap but notwithstanding the car ought to be of decent quality.

At least the AC should work in LAS

Just rented at LAS 5-16 to 5-18. The wait at the airport desk was BRUTAL! The Neon I got was okay and the rate was very low.
This was third Thrifty rental since late April. So far, not one (1) rental has posted to Gold Points. It goes without saying that neither the the three (3) rental bonus [2,500] nor the double point promotion [1,500 vs. 750] have posted either.
Anyone have better luck?

For what its worth my miles credited to Air Canada Aeroplan about 10 days after the return of the car - I was shocked!!!
Thrifty did send me $30 in coupons so corporate handled it well. I will never rent from Thrifty in LAS again and may be sceptical of other USA locations.

FWIW, I had no trouble and no line at check-in (11:00 am on a Friday), my cheap Neon ran just fine, and my AS miles posted in exactly 15 days. I was stunned. Maybe I'm pressing my luck, but I'll be renting from them again in T-3 weeks and this time a van. We'll see...
