Wife and I headed down to SXM next week for a little R&R, flying DCA-PHL-SXM. Got the UG to F on the DCA-PHL leg, but am waitlisted for F on Flt 1465, the PHL-SXM leg. Spoke with the CSR who told me they're not sure if it will be the F8 or F24 757.

Any advice on securing the UG on the second leg? I'm UA 1K, but have no status with US. I know the odds are not in my favor, but I'd like to kick off our vacation with a glass of bubbly in 1AB.

Thanks!

Most of us don't know on any given day whether the 757 you're on would be the existing F24 or the reconfigured F8 - I'm assuming US books/upgrades at the F8 level just to be sure.

I flew MCO-CLT 1/16 confirmed upgrade in row 2. At the gate, they were upgrading pax like crazy - turns out it was a 757 with F24 on this run - and folks were grinning.

So, please make sure you're on the same-day WL when you check-in.....your UA 1k status has high priority for same-day upgrades. I'm not sure if they serve bubbly on that route, though, but I'm always happy with several Tanqs or Finlandias http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Happy travels!

Bubbly (sparkling wine) is available on most if not all 1st class flights.
